Hello Minneapolis!

by Rachel Spenst | June 22, 2024 9:03 PM

We've arrived in Minneapolis and are settling in at our partner church, Oxboro Evangelical Free. We're super excited for this week and can't wait to see how God will work!

Hello Minneapolis!

Praising the Lord Together!

by Rachel Spenst | June 23, 2024 11:43 AM

"...Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 5:18-20).

We had a delightful morning worshiping the Lord together with our brothers and sisters in Christ at Oxboro Church!

Light Rail Ministry

by Amy Fleuridor | June 23, 2024 5:34 PM

We just finished up a time of praying over the St. Paul and Minneapolis area and our fellow passengers on the light rail, with a quick stop at Union Depot!

Bold Steps of Faith

by Rachel Spenst | June 23, 2024 8:14 PM

Our prayer ministry on the light rail stretched us, but it was so cool to see the Spirit give us boldness to witness to this community. We pray that people were encouraged by our smiles, testimonies of God's goodness in our lives, and even the simple gift of granola bars and water. God is already at work and we're excited!

Let Jesus Flow Through You

by Rachel Spenst | June 23, 2024 11:01 PM

After debriefing what we experienced today, we joined together in a sweet time of worship. Jack encouraged us in the Word by leading a devotional based on Romans 12. He challenged us to live for Jesus and let Him flow through us as we serve. Yet not us but through Christ in us!

Hospitality House!

by Rachel Spenst | June 24, 2024 12:13 PM

Our main ministry partner for this week is Hospitality House Youth Development, a ministry that provides after-school and summer programs for kids in north Minneapolis. We got to meet George this morning and hear from him about how the ministry started and how they serve this neighborhood!

A group of our students spent the morning helping out in classrooms at the Hospitality House, assisting younger students with their class work!

Time to Play!

by Amy Fleuridor | June 24, 2024 1:47 PM

After lunch, the team joined in as all grades gathered in the gym to play some basketball and jump rope. Play time is always a great time to build relationship and make connections :)

Known and Loved

by Rachel Spenst | June 24, 2024 11:23 PM

Nathan led us in a devotional tonight about significance from 1 Kings 19. What an incredible reminder that though we may feel insignificant, God knows, sees, and loves us! It was a sweet night of worship, prayer, and encouraging one another in that truth as God worked in our hearts.

Developing Relationships

by Amy Fleuridor | June 25, 2024 10:04 AM

We were super excited to get back in the classrooms with the kids at Hospitality House again this morning! The relationships with these precious kids are already developing into something we’ll never forget and, as we’ve been learning and discussing during devotionals, we know God can use even the smallest interactions to make a lasting impact!

Dream Team

by Amy Fleuridor | June 25, 2024 11:12 AM

A few of our students joined the younger classes for a game of kickball before lunch. The kids’ faces lit up :) So much fun!

Vantastic!

by Rachel Spenst | June 25, 2024 1:39 PM

Check out this cleaning crew! Hospitality House often takes kiddos on field trips, and we got to wash and vacuum out several of the vans they use to do so!

Whatever You Do

by Rachel Spenst | June 25, 2024 1:47 PM

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men..." (Colossians 3:23)

...including pulling weeds! Thank you to Stacey from Hospitality House for exhorting us this morning with this Scripture!

Hearts on Fire for God

by Amy Fleuridor | June 25, 2024 9:00 PM

Worship time gives us a chance to show God the way our hearts burn for Him and He never ceases to fill us to overflowing…

Team Skit

by Amy Fleuridor | June 26, 2024 11:58 AM

The team created and acted out a skit for the students about joy vs. happiness today and it was awesome! True joy comes from knowing Christ! Great job, Team!

It was such a special week at Hospitality House, making friends and serving in various ways. We're glad we're not too far away so we can come back to visit sometime!

Bridging with Blankets

by Rachel Spenst | June 26, 2024 4:19 PM

We wrapped up our ministry for the week by serving at Bridging MN, an organization that provides furniture and household items for over 120 local families a week! We sorted and folded blankets so that clients will have lots of options to choose from when they come to shop.

Family Worship and Prayer Time

by Amy Fleuridor | June 26, 2024 9:42 PM

This team operates like a family and it’s beautiful to watch. Praying over each other, speaking words of affirmation, and calling each other out in love when needed…the Lord is moving in this place.

Building Each Other Up

by Rachel Spenst | June 27, 2024 10:54 PM

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing" (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

We had the opportunity tonight to worship together, reflect on this week of ministry, and encourage one another. It's so special to intentionally build each other up and to affirm how we see God at work in each other!

Keep the Momentum

by Rachel Spenst | June 28, 2024 1:49 PM

We're leaving our partner church after a wonderful week of ministry! Our trip is not over yet, and neither is the work God has been doing in us this week. We're eager to keep the momentum as we continue serving and seeking the Lord!
