Paradise Valley UMC

Yesterday we arrived in Puerto Rico! We ate a snack and went to bed. Now rested and ready to go, we are having breakfast! This week we are also sharing with another team! We are getting ready to go and share with our partners Sunday!

This morning we are working at Central Baptist Church in Villa las Lomas. Gradually, we are cleaning up more of this green area to protect the church's community electrical zone.

We are returning today to the yard around the electric tower of Las Lomas. This tower supports the main lines that power this community. If the plants are able to overtake the tower, they would cut off the community. The parisoner that used to take on this responsibility himself, passed away a few years ago, and the church and community have been the ones keeping it from covering the tower. We have been able to clean so much of it so far! Members of the community are so happy when they learn that we are helping them with this!

What a great lunch the church prepared for us! The rice and beans (called "arroz con habicuelas") with stew chicken are tasty! We are definitely getting seconds!

This morning, we're hard at work in this green space, ensuring this community and the Baptists Church in Villa las Lomas enjoys a cleaner environment. 

Taking advantage of the morning to paint and highlight the beauty of the church.

Last stop, Old San Juan. Today we enjoyed a walk with a spectacular view of history and the sea.
