Carbon Welcomed Us!!

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 23, 2024 12:01 AM

Today we arrived in Carbon. The first thing we saw was a lively service at the church and we were welcomed by them. We just prepared our beds to sleep and recover energy for tomorrow when we travel to Alto Jabui. Everyone has a heart willing to serve through this week! Keep praying for the team to see God’s hand in the work we will do.

The Journey Continues!

by Agata Dueck | June 23, 2024 11:32 PM

We left Carbon church today and made our way to our final destination for the week, Alto Jabui!

On our way there we crossed a few creeks and had a full experience pushing one of the buses through a hard crossing!

After many water crossings and bumpy roads we have made it to Alto Jabui! Thank God!

Catching Up!

by Agata Dueck | June 23, 2024 11:57 PM

Once we had unloaded the buses and situated ourselves.

Pastor Amado introduced himself to the new people in the group and shared with us some of the things that his family and the church have been going through after the last visit.

We then were able to pray over his family, for the health of pastora Damaris and the ministry God has given them.

Worship and Testimonies.

by Agata Dueck | June 24, 2024 8:20 AM

We joined in worship with the congregation this afternoon. It was a wonderful time where we could sing in English and Spanish with them! Also, four of us shared testimonies of what God has done in our lives! Jackson then shared the word and spoke about joy in the midst of trials.

Morning Devos!

by Agata Dueck | June 24, 2024 12:16 PM

Every morning we have devos and today Charlie shared with us how we want to be accepted be those around us, but Jesus has called us and chosen us to be different, to be like Him!

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”

‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Kitchen Windows!

by Agata Dueck | June 24, 2024 7:22 PM

Today the Lord allows us to bless the people of this community in many ways. We have started construction!

We will be helping out the church by putting in kitchen windows, during the process we are able to work with the locals and build relationships along the way!

Day One of VBS!

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 24, 2024 10:04 PM

Today we shared with the kids from the community. We played different games and also had time to tell them a little bit about some Bible verses. Jesus is the way. It was amazing to see the joy that the kids bring to all the people. They are the future of this church. We prayed that God would keep guiding them and showing them His love.

Hard Work!!

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 24, 2024 10:13 PM

At the same time, we were helping the church with the classroom for Sunday school. Through this week we will be doing the floor of the classroom so they will be able to have a space dedicated for the kids. Even when our bodies are tired, our spirit is getting stronger knowing that we are helping build the house of the Lord.

Worship Night!

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 24, 2024 10:19 PM

We ended the day having worship time. It is always necessary to recover spiritual energy and have time to hear God’s voice. We are so grateful for everything that we were able to do throughout the day, and we pray for the movement of the spirit during the rest of the week.

Visiting the Community!

by Agata Dueck | June 27, 2024 12:29 PM

Today we were able to do day 2 of food distribution.  Every home that we went to share with was a blessing for us and for them. When we let God use us, we will see miracles happen.

”You are the miracle from God that we were praying for even before we met you” words from a person that we visited today.

We are blessing them with food, but at the same time, they are blessing us spiritually.

We are Part of the Body of Christ!

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 27, 2024 12:33 PM

With the women we shared a lot about how important we are for Christ. We told them that each one of them is completely functional and necessary for the body of Christ. We encouraged the women because most of them are fighting for their family.

“All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.”

Healthy Leaders ==> Healthy Church

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 27, 2024 12:52 PM

We had time to share with some leaders from the church about how important it is for us to be desperate for God, but always remembering to be humble. It is important for us as leaders to always remember that if we want a vibrant church the revival starts in us.

We are not Giving Glory to any other!

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 27, 2024 1:18 PM

“Then Jehoshaphat added, “But first let’s find out what the Lord says.””
??2 Chronicles? ?18?:?4? ?NLT??
Because we want to give Him glory we are seeking Him first. With humble hearts we went to Him to hear what He wants for us and what He wants us to do. Through this week we have seen Broken Vessels being a masterpiece on His hands.

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 27, 2024 1:45 PM

Last Day of VBS!

by Agata Dueck | June 27, 2024 2:32 PM

We told the story of when jesus called His disciples to be fishers of men. We then did a craft helping them to visualize the strong!

“Seeing the children come out of their shells and smiling more and being very energetic after 2 days of being with them, was awesome! The fact that they opened up to us was a blessing!” ~D

Prayer Visits!

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 27, 2024 6:41 PM

The same as our body, our spirit needs to be fed. We went to some houses to share a little testimony and a word from the Bible. And prayed for every kid and every person in each house. The team was intentional in these prayers. We know that the prayers of the righteous person produce results, even when we won’t be able to see the results. We trust that God is working and encouraging every person that we prayed for.

“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our Life as a Tie-Dye?

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 27, 2024 7:00 PM

During women's ministry, we did tie-dye. We shared that sometimes our life looks so messy, we can’t figure out what God is doing, but at the end He makes all the things work for the good of those who love Him. We learn to trust God because he has a purpose for the situations that we are going through.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
Romans 8:28 NLT

Farewell party!!

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 28, 2024 4:58 PM

We celebrate because we had the opportunity to serve. As a family we are gonna lift each other up in prayer. Jesus wants us to be one to make the world believe that there is one God.

We are so grateful for these people!!.

“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”

John 17:21 NLT

by Eddy Alvarez Acosta | June 28, 2024 10:09 PM

We arrived Carbon in the afternoon being ready to play soccer. For the first time in the week it started to pour, that made the mejenga(soccer match) funnier, a lot of puddles and dirt to slide in.
